Alfredo Maffei has a degree in visual arts from the Faculdade de Belas Arte of São Paulo. His involvement with art began at an early age, when he was a boy, he changed his boots for paints and brushes, to transmit his characters, stories and creations through paintings and drawings.

But it was through the walls that Maffei found his true passion (vocation). Returning from a year-long trip to Mexico, the artist, tremendously influenced by Mexican mural art, returns with a special desire to paint on the walls and appropriate urban spaces to carry out his work.

This desire, which is realized in his early years of college, when Maffei, dazzled by the urban scene of the city of São Paulo, began to portray with murals, homeless people he saw and knew on his way to college.

And from then on, his artistic research in relation to the invisibility of these people was increasingly deepened, and portraying their eyes became a series of works that earned him national and international awards and exhibitions.

In addition to his artistic production, the artist currently develops research exploring the potential of artistic practices as a means of shortening social and cultural distances and stimulating new positive connections between people from different realities and cultures, using art as a tool to emphasize true human bonds .
